PROLOGUE
“This is just how it is. The love, it’s gone. I don’t have any feelings for you anymore.”
“That’s it?” He asked calmly. “We’re just over and done with? And you waited until we arrived at your office to tell me this?”
“Yeah.”
“You don’t love me anymore, and from now on, we’ll have nothing to do with each other?”
Hearing him say those words himself sent pain through my heart, but I remained unfazed.
“Look, it happens all the time,” I shrugged. “Don’t beat yourself up over it. It wasn’t your fault.”
“Oh, I’m not,” he stated.
