PROLOGUE
The red moon, hanging high above in a near-empty sky, bathed everything below it in vermillion light. This was the sign for which the pack had been waiting. Their numbers had been dwindling for years and now were but a mere fraction of their former strength. Once, they had hunted the woods surrounding Coyote Creek with impunity. Now, they were vulnerable. The pack came to a silent agreement—it was time for fresh blood.
