I do not claim to be a raconteer neither can my writings are captivating, yet I can assure I have read and penned enough to know, if I can write something that can be called a reading material. My favourite short story writers in english includes R. K. Narayan, Lev Tolstroy, Foyder Dostoevsky, Anton Chekhov, O Henry and off course Oscar Wilde.
I believe short stories should be crisp, to the point, and should set enough context so as the reader does not get lost. Leaving it as a conversational or irrational with minimal characters truly brings out the essence. Remember the Face on the Wall by Edward Verrall Lucas? It is a simple narration of the protagonist and my writings have a bearing on these works.
I trust, I can entertain you but even if not, the impetus to write is a great satisfaction for me.
