Leaderboard provides an opportunity to earn additional performance bonuses to members whose stories are read the most in a specific period.
Before now, only Prime members could earn a bonus on the leaderboard, but now, free members will also be able to earn on the leaderboard.
Further to this development, leaderboard bonuses will soon be updated weekly to your account, which means that you'll have to be on the leaderboard in the last week to earn the bonus this week and be on the leaderboard this week to earn the bonus next week. The reason for this is to provide a fresh opportunity to everyone, every week. [We will update on this]
This bonus which we always credit to the Top 3 read writers, will now be expanded to the Top 10 writers.
In light of this development, the following is our proposed amount you can earn on the leaderboard.
The top three Prime members on the leaderboard will earn up to £1 each day they rank on the leaderboard for activities of that day.
Every other prime member on the leaderboard Top 10 will earn £0.50p each day they rank in the leaderboard for the activities of those days*.
All Free members that rank on the leaderboard top 10, irrespective of their position on the leaderboard, will earn between £0.10 to £0.20 each day they rank on the leaderboard for the activities of those days.
Activities of that day*
To explain the activities of that day, let's assume that you are in the top spot for the top 10 read stories on Monday, which placed you on the leaderboard, but your story was nowhere in any of the top 10 reads on Tuesday and Wednesday. This means that you have not been on the leaderboard for activities on Tuesday and Wednesday and you will not earn bonuses for the two days, even though you still hold a position on the leaderboard. If someone else has ranked on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, they would have taken the top spot from you because they were ranked for 3 days, i.e 2 days more than you.
You will need to be ranked in the Top 10 by the end of the week or month (whichever is currently applicable) to keep the bonus.
