Emilia locked her door and proceed to the elevator. She was having test in school that day and was trying her best not to have mood swings atleast not before her test. She dressed in a short flare gown exposing her legs. She tried fitting her text book inside her backpack till she got to the elevator. She was about to pressed the open button when it got opened itself, revealing down to earth guy. His hair was so dark, his eyes lashes was so long, he has a grey eye balls giving Emilia shivers. His pink lips and shining skin makes her heart pounds. 

' what's going on?', she scolded herself, it's really been a long time since her heart beat, since her second broken relationship. She hasn't been having feelings since then and now ,of course it must be admiration.

The guy walked out and left without even a word.

"Yeah, of course, what am I expecting, such an handsome, tall, nice cologne, well built man will even take a second look at me? , when will you wake up Emilia", she said and entered the elevator then pressed the close button. The elevator was still filled with his strong cologne , she remembered his small pink lips, how tall and masculine he is, his poke nose , that sparkling grey eyeballs. 

' seriously Emilia what are you thinking of early in the morning, you are having test for goodness sake, guys like that are just like other guys who would only get under your skirt and then trash you, so get yourself together', she said to herself. She came out of the building and boarded a bus .

 

Emilia walked out of the class after her test, 

"Hi Emilia", her course mate Cynthia greeted,

"Hi Cynthia, how was your test",

" don't even ask", she hissed,"and yours?",

Emilia shrugged,

"of course I know it's good, you are a scholar of course",

"stop kidding me ", she turned away,' you have no idea how difficult it is to stay focus when reading ', she sighed feeling exhausted.

"want to hang out?",

"nope , just want to go home and eat",

"can you seriously stop being boring, from school back to home, then back to school again. This is why you have no boyfriend",

" I thought I was the only one that has thought of that", she said and closed her locker, bid Cynthia and walked away.

Cynthia shook her head, " I wonder how someone like this is coping".

 

The ruin of me (chapter 2)

 

It was getting dark, Emilia walked sluggishly to the house after doing some groceries, she bought junks along knowing she wouldn't be able to cook as it is becoming late already. She has gotten to the side of house when someone tapped her from behind. She looked back to see Alex, one of her toasters.

"hey!", She greeted,

"hey sweetie, it's been a while, you don't even asked of me ",

She scoffed,' and why should I?', she said in mind,

"don't you miss me?", he said closing up the gap between them and trapping in between him and the wall.

"no, I have no interest in you so I have any reason to miss you so please excuse me", she made to leave but he pinned her to the wall,

"not so soon baby, what should I do cause I really missed you", Alex said. Though he is a cute guy , popular among girls, he has once had the chance to kiss and touched her but even though she was lusting at that moment, she made sure they didn't have sex and that was all , no feelings attached. He proceeded to kiss her but she wasn't interested,

"C'mon baby, I really missed the feeling of your tender skin in my hands",he tried trying to feel her soft skin.

"Alex please let me go!", She tried pushing him off but he closed up the gap between them and made to kiss her but she turned her face away and he ended up kissing her neck but he still proceed In kissing and nibbling on her skin.

"let me go or I'll scream", she threatened,

" I love you honey", he said and grope her breast. Tears formed in her eyes, there wasn't even anything called dignity or respect for her. Just then , someone pushed Alex away from her and hit him so hard in his jaw. He staggered back and looked angrily at who it was, even Emilia was shocked at what just happened, she looked at who it was and became even more shocked. It was the greek lord , her neighbor. She couldn't believe her eyes.

" hey dude what's your pro...",

"take two more steps closer if you know you are ready to die", he said with an authoritative voice halting Alex in his track as he wants to fight back. 

"didn't she tell you to let her go?, If you have no respect at all , you should respect her bodyshe isn't a whore you can locate when you need someone to fuck you bastard", he thundered giving both Alex and Emilia shivers. Alex has no choice but to coward away out of fear of his boldness thinking surely, he can't be an ordinary man. Emilia couldn't take her eyes of him. He just saved her, he just stood up for her. Her heart won't stopped beating. The few words he said makes her heart and blood feels warm. He turned to her and grabbed her hands.

 

 

Chapter 3

 

 

He dragged her inside till they entered the elevator going to the last floor, they didn't speak a word to each other, he looks so annoyed but Emilia mind was not even on that. She felt shivers and rushed through her veins as he held her hand without letting go. Her heart feels warm, she was moved to tears, no one has ever shown her this kind gesture, the moment he saved her became a scene that keeps replaying in her head. She is the type that minds her business, always on her own like she was deserted into the world, not even a moment had she expected would even take notice of her. The moment the elevator opened, he pulled her out to his room which was right beside hers and sat her down on the couch. He went to fetch a cold bottle of water and gave it to her. She nervously drank it not understanding what was going on anymore. The scent of his cologne was doing another thing to her. She didn't need to be told she is about to get ruined as she knew so well, deep down her heart goes crazy anytime he's present .She is in love with him. Is this love at first sight, seriously that's crazy cause she doesn't believe in it but right now, she is having the same feeling she had when she first fall in love but after she got her heart broken twice, she stopped believing in love and this?, It's getting more than what she had the last time and that scares her alot.

"are you ok?",

"Hm", she nodded,

He sighed and sat a bit distant from her. Seeing where he sat , she felt even more heartbroken and was reminded again that she's not his type.

"I know you are not ok", he said," I know you were never okay",

She looked at him not understanding what he meant,

"I've always known you to be a very interesting lady but with my observation, I won't say you are traumatized but I would say you are depressed and lonely. I can't even believe I finally got the chance to speak with you", 

Her heart was beating faster, how does he know when they've only met and this is their first time speaking to each other.

"how did you know?",she asked,

He smiled, seeing his beautiful smile gave her goosebumps.

"that means I'll be telling you a secret",

She felt eager to know," am dead curious",

"I know, you ears are stretching already",

She laughed, " I can feel it too",

" I left my home because of you",

"what did you mean by that?",

" I got attracted to you the first time I saw on outside one of the grocery shops, I don't know if you are a melancholist, introvert or whatever but I got more determined to know you better when your beautiful smile get me obsessed",

Emilia looked at him like she was dreaming or something, her smile got him obsessed?, that's ridiculous. She isn't even in anyway attractive but that's not for Robert. Her bright big blue eyes were like oceans that keeps drowning him anytime he looks into it. He at first just wants to know her more and why she's always wrapped inside her shell, he only find her interesting at first but things doesn't go as planned as he fell in love with a lady that wasn't even aware of his secret admiration for her.

 

 

Chapter 4

 

 

"I don't understand you", she said looking lost.

" I know this is sudden Emilia..",

"how did you know my name",

" where should I start from?, Ok...,I have know you now, it has been a while, I really liked you at first but ,you are the quiet type, you always have mood swings and I don't know how or when to approach you, the first time I saw you smile, goodness that is the most beautiful smile I've ever seen, your deep dimples won't just leave my head, I got determined to know why you are always looking sad and depressed", he paused and sighed," and I succeeded, with research and what I noticed, it breaks my heart to know you are going through such things, alone",

Emilia heart was beating fast, she was moved to tears. She couldn't believe someone knew about her. 

" It's ok to cry Emilia, it's fine to scream, I just want to be there when you let it all out", saying all that, getting to know finally someone understands her, she has always longed for a shoulder to cry on but no one was ever there, the way everyone in her life has ever made her feel is something that added more to her depression and none of them even realize. She didn't want much, she just wants someone to know she isn't fine, she just want someone to look at her and say,' it's a storm and it will surely pass away', some to tell ' you will be fine', she needs just that one person to be there for her but she's so lonely, no one understands her, everyone only made her feel worthless, some people harsh words has caused alot of damage to her mental health. She was tired, exhausted, she really want to let it go, she also wants to be happy and with that, she burst into tears. He went to her and hugged her tight. Robert learnt this from Emilia, in the society where some people are being quiet or distant, it doesn't really means they are being arrogant or proud, some are going through mental issues, some are suffering from depression, if only the people could reach out to one another, if only the people can be more understanding , then they would hardly be anyone that would feel no one understands them, or die of depression or loneliness. His secret admiration for Emilia provide him tangible information he's ready to share to the world, that chronic depression is real.

He pecked her forehead her forehead, his heart aches alot as she cries. After some minutes she felt relieved alot like an heavy luggage has just been lifted off her shoulder.

This is one of her fears, showing someone her weakness cause it might be used against her but right now she love being in Robert arms as it gives her comfort and for the first time, she felt protected,

" how do you feel?",

"never been better",

He grinned.

Some minutes after, after he make sure she is fine, he escorted her to her room, he held her hand at the door,

"how about we go somewhere tomorrow?",

"huh?", the thought of being with him makes her blush,"ok",

He smiled and pecked her head making her face more red,

"and make sure you don't cry this night again",

"no am not going to, wait ,again?, you also know I cry at nights?",

He giggled," the walls ain't sound proofed so yes, I heard sobs all night",

She hide her face feeling embarrassed with her face turning red. 

" you looks so adorable right now", he said and pecked her.

 

 

 

Chap.5

 

Emilia couldn't stop blushing all night, she kept feeling his lips on her cheek and that gave her a sleepless night. Her heart won't stop pounding. She couldn't wait for the next morning to arrive. She wondered where they are going to, on a date?, restaurant?, she was so anxious and felt like fast forwarding the time.

 

 

The next day,

 

Emilia looks so bright as she walked out of the building to meet Robert who was waiting for her already. He was standing beside a sport car,

"Wanna go for a drive princess?", he said grinning,

She beamed happily, heaven knows she has always wanted to go for one. He opened the car for her and she hopped in. It was one of the best day of her life, Robert won't stop pampering and complimenting her beauty and dressing sense that this was one of the time a compliment felt genuine to her, it has only been few hours, but the few hours has been memorable than the days she ever had. He made her feel loved and cared for In a way she could never imagined.

" you are going to be the ruin of me ", she said to him the previous night.

Robert is a definition to the almost perfect guy she read in novels, infact she thinks he's the inspiration for the writers. It has only been for hours but he was really transparent as he believes honesty is the key to healthy relationship. He drove her to his real home which he abandoned just to get to know Emilia better. She got shocked at how beautiful it is, the house, the cars and the area screams wealth and she confirmed it that he isn't just an ordinary guy. She felt honoured.

"you really left all these just for me?",

"you are more than that Emilia", he said and turned to her, looking at serious as he began "yes you are not perfect ,but I don't care about your flaws, the day I heard you sing, I've always want to be the first to hear your songs since then, the thought of another guy touching you really makes me angry and I can't stand it, anytime you smile, I can't deny I want to measure how deep your dimple is with my tongue, I really love you Emilia, I can't pretend anymore neither can I deny it",

This was sudden, everything is happening really so fast but this man captures her heart within few hours, he makes her want and need him. She isn't perfect, she has no friends but having him will be like having it all. He never treated her for the same few hours like he only wants to get under her skirt unlike every other guys. Now she understands that , fate is something that can be predicted, same as love. She knew the road wouldn't be so smooth but she's ready to walk it with him. She knew there will be difficulties but she is ready to risk her fragile heart for him. He never gave her room to doubt, there's just no reason for him to go this far if he just wants to get down with her. She moved closer to him and smiled, 

"you can draw me to fire and water, draw me to the darkest part of me, to any death or what I have most avoided, with you I have no fear of or confusion of thought. This is what I meant by you being THE RUIN OF ME".

 Robert grinned and kissed her tenderly and passionately knowing how long he had loved her.
