I was frozen.
I was looking at the dead tree and the remnants of its dry branches that looked like frightful heads.
I remembered all that was said about the fairy who lives in this tree and appears at nightfall to burn everyone who passes in front of her tree!
I watched the looks of anticipation in the eyes of my friends, and one of them asked: How old were you then?
I said with frustration: 13 years.
His question meant that I failed in arousing his curiosity to hear the rest of the story, but I was soon encouraged by another friend who said: continue. What happened after that?
I said: I stood looking at the tree and imagining the fairy hiding behind the dry branches. I was feeling genuine fear and I imagined the fairy while she was chasing me with her fire like an angry dragon!
I remembered the scene in all its details: I had no choice but to face my fear. So that I don't spend the rest of the night out of my bed, and would have been subjected to severe punishment from my father. So I decided to confront the fairy!
I paused for a while to make sure of the impact of my words on my friends, then I said: I decided not to look at the tree.. and I ran very quickly and entered my house.. but I came back again and looked at the tree in defiance of the fairy.
My friends said together: What happened after that?
I said: the fairy never appeared to me, and after that, I deliberately stood near the tree at night, I conquered my fear, but I could not conquer my curiosity to see the fairy that everyone tells about her!

A good short story. Very imaginative. A good fantasy. Want to read more of it.
