Sun is an 18 year old girl who is bullied at school for being the stereotyped nerdy Asian kid. She’s bullied for her late, bipolar mother and her bald father.
Dylan is a 22 year old man who is getting his master degree in astrophysics. He’s ambitious and firm, and nothing like Sun.
They start off on a wrong foot when Sun drags him from his date to save her some embarrassment when encountering her ex with his new, perfect girlfriend. Appalled at her own actions, she pays for Dylan and his girlfriend’s date and rush back home, planning to never see him again.
But, fate seems to have a different plan. The next morning, they bump into each other at the pharmacy. Feeling guilty, Dylan offers to drive her home. During their car ride, they end up becoming friends and maybe even something a little bit more. But Dylan just broke up and wants to be single. And Sun broke up half a year ago but still isn’t over it.
This isn’t a story about boy meets girl and falls in love with each other. Yes, it is a love story, but it’s about a love greater than that. It’s a story about boy meets girl, and teaches her how to fall in love with herself.
